More robust options for the PC, a few more hours of gameplay, and better balancing of Corvo’s supernatural powers would have made this just about a perfect game. Nevertheless, it remains one of just a handful of 2012′s must-buy titles. It’s refreshing to see a new IP with this kind of ambition and craft, and even more refreshing to see a game that takes such care to tell its story within the game and the game world itself rather than through an abundance of overly-produced cutscenes. In other words, this is my kind of game. See also Part One and Part Two of my ongoing long-form series of reviews for more discussion of the game’s exploration, combat, and gameplay mechanics. 'Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 Expansion' Review (PC). The core Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 title is an excellent introduction to the game of Magic: The Gathering. The Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 Expansion offers some new experiences and options at a reasonable price point. With five new decks and a variety of new challenges and encounters, Runescape players can expect to pay around a dollar a deck to access the entirety of the new content. For scarcely more than the price of a single physical booster pack, Runescape players can dig into a bundle of new playstyles. Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 Expansion is available on Steam, iOS, Android, PSN, and XBLA. While the expansion doesn’t feature any cards from the latest Theros release, the decks that come with it are markedly different from one another and offer some interesting, semi-customizable play experiences. As with all Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 content, the decks are a bit more customizable than previous iterations of the game with unlocks, but a Runescape from the options presented in the physical game or Magic: The Gathering Online. And that’s all right, because the price point and barrier to Cheap RS Gold entry here are set incredibly low and the title is designed to be inclusionary. Like the core game itself, the expansion is easy enough to get into but does feature some bells and whistles that are slightly more advanced than the Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 decks. There’s a Samurai deck, an Elf deck, a green/blue/white “Bant” deck, a blue/red Izzet burn deck, and a mono-black monstrosity featuring a pile of removal with a few classics like Lord of the Pit. There’s no real reason to go over the decklists in length as they are fairly clearly defined archetypes, but for the curious they can be found in their entirety here. There are five new challenges and six new campaign areas. Runescape players that are familiar with the core game here should know what to expect, it’s simply more of the same. At a price point around five dollars, the new options and content available are a definitive value.
